Jennifer Garvey Berger
Jennifer is one of the three LUME founding members, and as such is a permanent member of our Board. The spark for LUME was Jennifer’s belief that connecting people who care deeply about adult development could deepen our understanding of the field which might just make the world a better place. Plus she knew that people who love adult development are just great to hang out with, and strengthening the connections between such people seemed like a good idea! Jennifer has committed her career to the field of adult development as a teacher, coach, and writer. With the other LUME founders, Jennifer started Cultivating Leadership and Growth Edge Coaching, two slightly different takes on supporting adults to thrive in a complex world. Her doctorate (Harvard University, 2002) was in adult development where she was mentored by Robert Kegan. Jennifer’s books include Changing on the Job: Developing Leaders for a Complex World, Simple Habits for Complex Times: Powerful Practices for Leaders, and Unlocking Leadership Mindtraps: How to Thrive in Complexity.
